Gravley News Christmas 2005

It is hard to believe we have been in Hong Kong almost 9 years. We have met soooo many wonderful, wonderful people from all around the world. It has been such an amazing journey for us. However, as amazing as this journey has been it is time to say good-bye to Hong Kong and return to the US. For me, it was so much easier answering the call from God to give up our lives in the US to move to Hong Kong in 1997! Now, we are trying to answer God’s call to return to the US. It has been a struggle for us coming to terms with this, but we know that God’s hand is in this move and it is the best thing for our family.

After Katelyn finishes school for the Christmas holiday, we will be moving back to Kansas City. We will be resigning from International Ministries as of January 31, 2006. Hong Kong will always be a part of our lives and I know we will always be connected to Hong Kong. Please pray for Katelyn’s transition back to the States. She only knows Hong Kong and we hope she will make a smooth transition from the mild weather to the cold of Kansas!

Our things have been shipped and should arrive in KC first part of December. There was soo much to sort and give away! This is the first house that John and I have lived in for over 5 years! Now I know why we moved so often, it is easier to keep the closets cleaned out that way!

We are also trying to finish up the painting at Moon Lok kindergarten. We are saying goodbye to our various partners. There are so many details to sort out. Because we have been the only ABC missionaries in Hong Kong the past few years, our leaving does make the goodbye a little more complicated.

We would love to hear from you, after December 1st, please send all mail to:

John, Janine & Katelyn Gravley,

1255 E Meadow Lane

Olathe, KS 66062

Our e-mail address will remain the same, jgravley@aol.com

So, as you can see, life as usual for the Gravleys—always changing and always living in the unknown! John does not have a job yet, but I will be returning to the real estate world and teaming up with my previous partner, Marilyn Bromby! I am so excited that I will be able to return to a career I loved!!! Pray for John as he finds what God is calling him to do!
